The McLott Mix is a combination of 4 medications that is administered to decrease or prevent the incidence of peripheral and central sensitization. McLott Mix is composed of Dexmedetomidine, Ketamine, Magnesium, and Lidocaine.
Infusion Rates
- Lidocaine 2mg/kg/hr, Ketamine 0.3mg/kg/hr, Magnesium 10mg/kg/hr, Dexmedetomidine 0.4mcg/kg/hr
- Infuse at 0.5ml/kg/hr (IBW or AdjBW)
- Run infusion until closure begins
How to prepare in 50mL Syringe
- Lidocaine 200mg
- Ketamine 30mg
- Magnesium 1gm
- Dexmedetomidine 40mcg
- Fill syringe with IV fluid for total volume of 50m
- Larger infusion may be made in 100mL by doubling the amount of medications listed above, and removing corresponding volume from 100mL bag prior to injeciton of McLott Mix medication mixture
